How to Clean Your Jewelry
Whether you've been out and about all summer or a homebody, your jewelry has probably seen better days. Sweat, sunscreen, and chlorine can all take their toll, making your pieces look dull and grimy. A quick clean will banish that buildup and restore its original sparkle.

How to clean your jewelry, step-by-step
What you'll need:
- Toothbrush (make sure it's not the one you use for brushing your teeth!)
- Mild soap—we use regular old Dawn dish soap
- Warm water—ideally in a small to medium-sized bowl. If you're feeling brave, you can use warm water straight from the tap... just don't lose anything down the drain!
- Clean towel
Step-by-step:
- To start, gather up your jewelry and wet it in the warm water
- Put a small dollop of soap on the toothbrush
- Gently scrub your jewelry with the soapy toothbrush
- Rinse the piece in the warm water
- Repeat the process until your jewelry is shiny. Dry it with a clean towel and enjoy!

Why you need to wash your jewelry
Oils and dead skin cells naturally build up on your jewelry, dulling its shine over time. Lotions, sunscreens, perfumes, chlorine, and other chemicals also add to this build up and can shorten your jewelry's lifespan.
Regular cleaning removes this buildup and harsh chemicals, bringing back your jewelry's sparkle.
